The Practitioners’ Manual for Village Land Use Planning using tools and spatial technologies for community engagement was prepared using the Guidelines for Participatory Village Land Use Planning, Administration and Management in Tanzania. The Manual focuses on the first four steps of the Village Land Use Planning (VLUP) by giving detailed instructions of each step on how Village Land Use Planning process can be carried out through the application of satellite images and active stakeholder participation.

Part A of this document gives an introduction to the guidelines and presents the basic elements of the methodology. It outlines the concept of the methodology, its relevance for rural development, and the need to change from conventional top down to participatory. Part B details how these basics are used and combined for implementation through six steps. Part C constitutes appendices providing background information such as: Village Land Use Management Planning (VLUP) report structure, standards used in VLUP; and Extracts of Sectoral Regulations and Guidelines to be used in Detailed Village Land Use Management Planning in Step 6 of Part B.

This document provides guidelines for wildlife conservation. It emphasizes that an authorized officer under the Wildlife Division and every person appointed by the Director under the provisions of section 3 of the Wildlife Conservation Act shall, at all times during the execution of his functions, carry an identity card in the form prescribed in the Schedule to these Regulations.
