It emphasizes that any person requiring a brand shall deliver or transmit to the registrar an application in Form B in the First schedule to this Act accompanied by a fee of ten shillings for the registration of a brand; if no special combination is applied for, the registrar, if satisfied that such application is in conformity with this act, shall allot to such applicant in the order in which his application is received the first un-allotted brand standing in the register for the district in which the holding is situated on which the brand is to be used, and shall register the said brand to such applicant accordingly in form A in the first schedule to this act.

It captures several important dimensions of the regulatory environment as it applies to local rms. It provides quantitative indicators on regulation for starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency. Doing Business also measures features of labor market regulation. The statistical report in this document was derived from a data collected for the project in June 2017. It captures procedures to legally start and operate a company in Kenya.

It clearly states that a local investor may apply to the authority for an investment certificate and a foreign investor who intends to invest in kenya shall also apply to the authority for an investment certificate.
