This is a parliamentary Act that provides for the establishment of special economic zones; the promotion and facilitation of global and local investors; the development and management of enabling environment for such investments, and for connected purposes. Part III of this document establishes the special economic zones authority to make recommendations to the cabinet secretary on all aspects of designation, approval, establishment, operation and regulation of special economic zones.

This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for copyright in literary, musical and artistic works, audio-visual works, sound recordings, broadcasts and for connected purposes. It provides for the establishment of the Kenya copyright board in Nairobi. The functions of the board shall license and supervise the activities of collective management societies as provided for under this act and devise promotion, introduction and training programs on copyright and related rights, to which end it may co-ordinate its work with national or international organizations concerned with the same subject matter

This is a parliamentary Act to implement Kenya’s obligations under the united nations convention against transnational organized crime particularly its protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children; to provide for the offences relating to trafficking in persons and for connected purposes.

This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for the registration of brands of stock. It emphasizes that any person requiring a brand shall deliver or transmit to the registrar an application in Form B in the First schedule to this Act accompanied by a fee of ten shillings for the registration of a brand; if no special combination is applied for, the registrar, if satisfied that such application is in conformity with this act, shall allot to such applicant in the order in which his application is received the first un-allotted brand standing in the register for the district in which the holding is situated on which the brand is to be used, and shall register the said brand to such applicant accordingly in form A in the first schedule to this act.

This is a parliamentary Act to regulate deeds of arrangement. A deed of arrangement to which this Act applies includes any instrument of the classes mentioned in this document, whether under seal or not— made by, for or in respect of the affairs of a debtor for the benefit of his creditors generally; made by, for or in respect of the affairs of a debtor who was insolvent at the date of the execution of the instrument for the benefit of any three or more of his creditors.

This is a parliamentary Act to authorize the manufacture of cement on certain land near Bamburi by the British standard Portland cement company limited and to provide for the grant of a lease of such land to the company for that purpose, and for purposes incidental to and connected therewith

This is a parliamentary Act that provides for the disposal of goods deposited under certain contracts but not re-delivered; and for connected purposes. It apply to goods in the possession or under the control of a custodian under a contract—to repair, treat or work on the goods, to value, survey or give an estimate relating to the goods, for custody or warehousing of the goods for reward and for carriage of the goods or under any other contract of bailment, express or implied.

This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for the licensing and control of the businesses of brokers, money-changers and goldsmiths and silversmiths. It classifies brokers into two – official and ordinary. It emphasizes that a person desirous of becoming an official broker shall find two sureties approved by the licensing authority, or such person as it may appoint, who will enter into a bond to the extent of two thousand shillings each for his good behavior.

The national automotive policy is a holistic framework that covers the comprehensive revitalization and development of the automotive industry in kenya. It recognizes Kenya’s obligation to develop the sector in an environment-friendly ecosystem. The policy addresses the entire value chain and inter-linkages with interrelated sectors of the economy which have a high multiplier effect for economic growth and development, such as iron and steel, transport, leather, plastics and rubber, foam, fuel/gas, glass, electronics and software, among others. Due the emerging disruptive technologies, the policy also projects futuristic development trends.

This is a parliamentary Act that establishes the business registration service to ensure effective administration of the laws relating to the incorporation, registration, operation and management of companies, partnerships and firms, and for connected purposes. The service is responsible for the implementation of policies, laws and other matters relating to the registration of companies, partnerships and firms, individuals and corporations carrying on business under a business name, bankruptcy, hire-purchase, and security rights.

The doing business project provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 190 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level. It captures several important dimensions of the regulatory environment as it applies to local rms. It provides quantitative indicators on regulation for starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency. Doing Business also measures features of labor market regulation. The statistical report in this document was derived from a data collected for the project in June 2017. It captures procedures to legally start and operate a company in Kenya.

This is a parliamentary Act to consolidate and reform the law relating to the incorporation, registration, operation, management and regulation of companies; to provide for the appointment and functions of auditors; to make other provision relating to companies; and to provide for related matters. The objectives of this Act are to facilitate commerce, industry and other socioeconomic activities by enabling one or more natural persons to incorporate as entities with perpetual succession, with or without limited liability, and to provide for the regulation of those entities in the public interest, and in particular in the interests of their members and creditors.

This is a parliamentary Act that provides for the establishment of an appropriate legal and institutional framework for the management of the environment and for the matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Every person in Kenya is entitled to a clean and healthy environment and had the duty to safeguard and enhance the environment. The entitlement to a clean and healthy environment under subsection one includes the access by any person in Kenya to the various public elements or segments of the environment for recreational, educational, health, spiritual and cultural purposes.

This is a parliamentary Act to promote and safeguard competition in the national economy; to protect consumers from unfair and misleading market conduct; to provide for the establishment, powers and functions of the competition authority and the competition tribunal, and for connected purposes. The object of this Act is to enhance the welfare of the people of Kenya by promoting and protecting effective competition in markets and preventing unfair and misleading market conduct throughout Kenya.

This is a parliamentary Act that provides for the establishment of export processing zones and the export processing zones authority, to provide for the promotion and facilitation of export oriented investment and the development of enabling environment for such investment and for connected purposes. The established authority will focus on the development of all aspects of the export processing zones with particular emphasis on provision of advice on the removal of impediments to, and creation of incentives for, export-oriented production in areas designated as export processing zones; the regulation and administration of approved activities within the export processing zones, through implementation system in which the export processing zone enterprises are self-regulatory to the maximum extent; and the protection of government revenues and foreign currency earnings.

This is a parliamentary Act to control the compounding of potable spirits. It emphasizes that any person who, for profit or sale, compounds spirits otherwise than under and in accordance with a licence issued under section 4 of this Act shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding ten thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or to both such fine and imprisonment.

This is a parliamentary Act to promote and facilitate investment by assisting investors in obtaining the licences necessary to invest and by providing other assistance and incentives and for related purposes. The document describes investment as the contribution of local or foreign capital by an investor, including the creation or acquisition of business assets by or for a business enterprise and includes the expansion, restructuring, improvement or rehabilitation of a business enterprise. It clearly states that a local investor may apply to the authority for an investment certificate and a foreign investor who intends to invest in kenya shall also apply to the authority for an investment certificate.
