A proclamation to pronounce the coming into effect of the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. This aligns with the ratification by the Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples of Ethiopia through their elected representatives on the 8th day of December 1994.

This is a proclamation to amend the electoral law of Ethiopia. This is essential to enable the “nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia exercise their right to self administration without any discrimination through their representatives elected in a direct and free election”.

This proclamation explores the provision of right and duty of citizens when forming political parties and acting as members of political parties. It seeks to provide basic principles to be followed by political parties to enable them act upon having legal personality.

This 2008 proclamation, numbered 613, ratifies the African charter on democracy, election, and governance. This is in line with the adoption of the charter at the “8th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments of the African Union at its Session held in Addis Ababa
on 30 January 2007”.

“The 662nd proclamation of 2009 highlights the drive to provide an electoral code of conduct for political parties, candidates, members and supporters of political parties. This is to ensure that subsequent elections, which draw lessons from previous elections, are transparent, free, legitimate, fair, peaceful, democratic and acceptable by the people”.

This 2007 proclamation, numbered 514, ratifies the United Nations convention against corruption. This is in line with the adoption of the charter at “the United Nations Convention at Merida, Mexico, on December 9 2003”.

There is the “National House of Chiefs”, and among them, the Act identifies different titles of those chiefs and their functions.

The act establishes the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands and provides for the administration of Stool Lands. The office is responsible for the management of the stool land account and the funds contained therein.

The nine hundred and thirty sixth Act of the Parliament of Ghana sets out to: “establish an efficient Local Government Service; provide for the establishment and administration of the District Assemblies Common Fund; to provide for a National Development Planning System; to define and regulate planning procedures of District Assemblies; to co-ordinate, facilitate, monitor and supervise internal audit activities within District Assemblies and for related matters”.
