The Federal Government enacts the copyright proclamation in accordance with the articles of the constitution to protect literary, artistic, and general creative works.

The refugee proclamation of 2004 makes provision for the laws and frameworks on refugees relations for effective implementation of international agreements on refugees asylum, protection, and safe and voluntary repatriation.

The proclamation on food and medicine administration guides the establishment of the necessary frameworks and regulatory schemes to ensure the safety of citizens against harmful and unsafe food, drugs, narcotics, and cosmetic products.

These regulations are pursuant to Article 5 of the Definition of Powers and Duties of the Executive Organs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Proclamation of 1995 (as amended), and Article 64 of the Value Added Tax Proclamation of 2002.

The right to free association is an internationally recognized right of all human beings. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia recognizes this right, as well as the need to ensure this right is not infringed upon. This proclamation is a bid to drive active enagagement of government in an organized manner.

The government of Ethiopia recognizes the importance of investments, both local and foreign on the development of the country’s economy. The export trade duty incentive scheme is therefore proclaimed in accordance with Article 55 (1) and (11) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The customs proclamation highlights the resolve of government to modernize customs law in Ethiopia to international and regional standards. This is in a bid to curb the issues plaguing legitimate trade in the country.
