Nigeria is clearly over dependent on Crude Oil for its Foreign Exchange earnings; hence, the economy is vulnerable to unstable nature of the international oil market. This policy document was developed to serve as a blueprint for the sustainable development, supply and utilization of energy in Nigeria. It recognizes the multi-dimensional nature of energy and addresses issues such as research, energy pricing, legislation, energy efficiency, and environment.
