The survey act sets out to regulate the survey of land in the Republic of South Africa. It gives powers to the minister to appoint a land surveyor as the Surveyor-General of the Republic, as well as Surveyor-General for each province or group of province. The powers of the appointees and their duties and responsibilities are detailed on the act.

The notice amends the section on the amount of levy (excluding VAT) payable, and the section empowering the levy administrator to carry out duties and delegate powers.

The regulations apply to grazing land and any land which is being used for cultivation. It specifies different forms of notice pertaining to occupiers, clarifications of peoples’ income status, and application process for certification as owner or person in charge.

The amendment notice is applicable to all special nature reserves, national parks, and world heritage sites, excluding the Vredefort World Heritage Site. It specifies other alterations by way of deletions, substitutions, and insertions.

Subject to the farm feeds, agricultural remedies, and stock remedies act of 1947, the minister repeals the notice relating to the prohibition on retail of products containing hyaluronic acid and its salts as farm feed.

The notice amends the definitions of the control measures of the agricultural pests act. It substitutes headings related to prohibitions of certain plants, and table detailing plants with movement restrictions.

The notice is subject to the marketing of agricultural products act of 1996. The statutory measure compels importers, exporters, packers, and processors (not excluding people who act in their capacities) of dried fruits to register with the Dried Fruit Technical Services (DFTS). It seeks to ensure availability of market information to all stakeholders to ensure knowledge based decisions. The measure applies to apply to all dried deciduous fruit.

The statutory measure applies to potatoes. It pushes to compel stakeholders of potato to register with the relevant administrators. It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The measure lists out the parties mandated to register, and the registration process.

The act acknowledges the constitutional right to have the environment protected for the benefit of present and future generations; the role played by natural forests and woodlands, and the need for sustainable management. The purposes of the act include: create the conditions necessary to restructure forestry in state forests; promote community forestry; and to promote the sustainable use of forests for environmental, economic, educational, recreational, cultural, health and spiritual purposes.

“The purpose of this notice is to identify activities that would require environmental authorisations prior to commencement of that activity and to identify competent authorities in terms of sections 24(2) and 24D of the national environmental management act of 1998. It repeals listing notice 1 of 2010.

Food-grade salt is defined as “a crystalline product consisting of 97% sodium
chloride, which is used as an ingredient or flavourant in or on a foodstuff, and
which may be obtained from the sea, underground rock salt deposits or natural
brine, and which can also be referred to as table salt, cooking salt, flavoured salt
or dendritic salt”. It is stated herein that food-grade salt shall not contain less than 97% sodium chloride on a dry matter basis, with the exclusion of food additives. The regulations also sets out the iodation requirements of food-grade salt, and the additives allowed to be contained.

An amendment to the environment conservation act of 1993. It gives the minister the power to determine policy directions for the implementation of conventions or agreement, and to outline norms and standards. It also provides for the regulation of the delegation of powers and assignment of duties.

Application for registration of animal feeds shall be made by residents of South Africa, or persons with registered offices in the country. The regulations contain other requirements to be met by applicants, appeals procedure, as well as general and specific requirements for animal feeds.

The regulations are subject to the agricultural product standards of 1990. They specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of sunflower seeds in South Africa. It specifically states that sunflower seeds shall not be sold except standards outlined in these regulations are met. The regulations are baseline standards for sunflower seeds sold in South Africa. The executive officer is allowed to grant partial or whole exemption to persons that meet stipulated requirements in the agricultural product standards act of 1990

The act pushes to correct the system of government in South Africa prior to April 1994; the secretive and unresponsive culture in public and private bodies that led to abuse of power and infringement on human rights. The act gives effect to the constitutional right of access to any information held by the state and any information that is held by another person and that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights. It hopes to foster a new culture of transparency and accountability in the society, and to promote effective access to information for the populace.

The act provides for a system that protects, and grants plant breeders’ rights as it relates to varieties of certain kinds of plants. It also makes provisions for the requirements which have to be complied with for the grant of such rights; for the protection of such rights and the grant of licences in respect of carrying out their operations.

The regulations and its amendments are under the plant improvement act of 1976. The amendment substitutes the “report of test, examination, or analysis of seed” table. Regulations related to viability, number of normal seedlings, and examination and sampling requirements are also amended.

The regulations prohibits the sale, manufacturing, and importation of any oils and fats in processed foods intended for human consumption that exceeds 2 gram per 100 grams of end product foodstuff. Trans fat contents per individual ingredient at the mixing bowl stage shall be kept on record for compliance purposes.

The Regulations specify the requirements that must be complied with to allow the sale of fresh vegetables in the country. It is stated that fresh vegetables before being placed on the market must be classified, packed, labelled and inspected as prescribed. The regulations exempt imported fresh vegetables from requirements regarding standards, grading and classification if they comply with the Codex Alementarius, UNECE or OECD standards.

The purpose of these Regulations is to manage the procedures and criterias outlined in chapter 5 of the national environmental management act of 1998, for the submission, processing, consideration and decision of applications for environmental authorisation of activities.
